One thing that stuck in my mind tonight at the first session was that God, many times, will bring the same message to different people. It's funny how often I will hear the same message in different places.
Another cool thing about that though is that it will be the same message, however, the speaker through which it comes has a different view or different passion or purpose with it. So even though I've heard the message before, it the speaker has a passionate heart and isn't dry with it, it will peak my interest.
I think the second preacher I heard tonight spoke to my heart really well. It seems that good speakers are like good songs. You can appreciate a good song, but there's a particular sound that you will naturally just gravitate towards.
What hit me the most about tonight is that so many people have corrupted their purpose. To listen to the world telling you how to live your life instead of the one that gave you life seems so foolish, yet so many are lead into that trap.
An even bigger trap is the pseudo-surrender, where you keep the things you want, yet still live for God and His will. Tricked into believing that God is happy with just half of you. He said it Himself. He is a selfish God and will not share. To the human mind, it seems un-godly, however God is so omniscient... when you give Him all of you, there's no end to the good things that will take place. I'm learning a little more and repenting every day of my short comings...
God
Patient
Grace
Love
Those are the three that hit me hardest tonight...
